Glen Soga Proper Waxing Techniques (How to haul ass)

Ok, this post is for the type of person that changes their own oil in their car. Maybe they like to use a higher grade oil or filter, maybe they don't trust the MENSA dropout at Lube N Go to do anything right to their car, or maybe they realize that a snowboard can be like a race car, except they can afford to make their board (if not their car) go as fast as possible! If so, check out SNOWBOARDGURU.BLOGSPOT.COM! If you just see your board as something to cruise around on once in a while, just g… Continue

Glen Soga Waxing Poetic

So it's Saturday night, and dumping in the local mountains. Sweet! Oh wait, where can you get your board waxed at 10pm, shit! Even better, did you just get passed on the flats by some skiers on rental gear? Maybe you can't get enough speed to clear that 50 foot table they just put up in the park. Or maybe you realize your snowboard is like a car. But unlike a car, you can afford to make your board as fast as you want. If that appeals to you, then you just might be able to make it through my leng… Continue

Donutz I didn't know they made fog that thick...

Went up the mountain Sunday morning. The fog was so thick (HOW THICK WAS IT??) that I couldn't see the ground from the chair. But I could hear the occasional skier or boarder down there saying "Where's the f***ing ski run?" Eventually, the fog started to lift, but then it started to rain for real. Yee-freakin'-haw. Oh, well. Even a bad day of snowboarding is better than nothing. Continue

Donutz Vancouver got snow

Well, we've got snow in the lower mainland, and all the mountains are open more or less. There was some concern that it might be a crappy snow-year for the olympics here, but it doesn't look like that's going to be a problem. Going up to Seymour tomorrow. The season has arrived! Continue
