I went to a sample sale up in Bellevue, Washington and have to say that I am really disappointed in the 2009 women's fashions. I had scoured the internet "window shopping" to get an idea of what was out there. At first glance, the tapered leg with boot/flare cut appears like it would look nice... and for some, I'm sure it is. For more petite gals like myself (I'm pretty thin, I fit into children's size 16 and women's xs), it makes us look unhealthy/too thin. I can't remember what the brand name was (it wasn't Roxy so in all fairness to the link I embedded, those may have looked different, but that was just to give a visual of the general look I was considering)... I opted instead for HellyHansen 2008 cargo style baggy pants. They were way more flattering as well as much more comfortable for bending, falling, etc.

I should get out my cam and take pics so you can see what I'm talking about.

I'm also not quite into the 80's themes... I realize that Hollywood, runway models, etc., are saying it's the latest fashion, but those are the types of fashions that are better on the streets than the snow.

What else did I get for this season? The sample sale had 50% off a 2008 xs Burton thinline plaid hoodiejacket... Practically identical to this but colors way better in person. Let me tell you about this jacket. It was so ridiculous and hideous that I had to buy it. Lime green and burnt orange plaid. My girlfriend hated it and that is exactly why I got it. To be offensive. To make a fashion statement. It was very flattering and something I could totally see flying down the mountain on especially on a hot day when I don't want a huge jacket on. It says 70's fashion rebel in a cute way. To me 70's is way better for female snowboard fashion than the 80's...

I prefer US branded apparel, especially t-shirts.

I don't know if you're referring to outerwear or hoodies but either way, I hate when companies skyrocket the price solely because of the style rather than function.

I remember plaid being all the rage last season, along with hot neon...so everyone felt they had to add $100 bucks to their price tag because it was plaid...

I also hate crappy hardshell jackets that don't last longer than a season.
